Jul. 28th, 2005 06:15 pmApparantly the creativity block that I'd been having broke. And I believe it happened when I quit. All of a sudden I'm able to write, to draw, to think up interesting things. So it seems like all it was was just too much piled on top of each other. Maybe there's a hose that comes out of my brain that the creativity has to flow through and there was enough stress and weight stacked on top of it that it pinched it off.
Wed. Charles came with me and Brigid and Evan to our writing thing, partly because Monday Charles and I started a collabrotive project. Although, technically his part is already done, lol. The 4 of us were like happy little peas in a pod. Everyone got along so well, and it was a nice break from the normal mixture of people. I enjoy all my friend, maybe I just needed to toss the salad a bit. Man look at my random metaphors spewing out. They're horrid.
So last night I read through the entire script of Charles' comic, and this morning I started doing character sketches. I've tried to draw comis before, but I've always found that I'm too perfectionistic to draw at the rate needed for comics. Today I was sitting and fussing over Sonya's facial details for like an hour, then I stopped, set my pencil down and lectured myself. Something along the lines of, make a choice, stop nit icking and just draw the damn thing, or call Charles and tell him I can't be the artist afterall. I finished Sonya's detailed and large drawing in about 30 minutes. Then moved on to sketch out tha aliens. Then changes to ink (just to see which style fit this particular one better) and managed in the next 40ish minutes to throw down 5 side characters. Now in between, I fissed over another character, but I'm having a hard time nailing his look, plus he _is_ a werewolf. That's gonna take some practice.
All in all, very excited about the project, as well as one Brigid and I may do here soon too. I haven't touched my writing, nor the writing I'm supposed to be editing for people, nor have I continued reading The Stand.
And no, I don't know what I'm doing about the nanny thing. I should call them. I just wish I'd never gone, lol.
Oh and I accidentally gave my phone number to some guy. Long story, lol. I didn't realize he was hitting on me, and I misunderstood what we were talking about when he asked for my number, and then realized a moment after I gave it to him what was going on... *smacks forhead*
