Everybody do your part!

Ok, so even here with no TV I know how bad Hurricane Katrina has been and how many lives it's destroyed. I've been wanting to donate through red cross and I've been waiting for my next paycheck to go thru before I wrote the check to them.
Then tonight I talked to my mom. My lil Caity-bug back home is doing her share. She's doing a walk-a-thon through her school where people will pledge a number of $'s per each lap they walk (1/3 of a mile, an awful lot for a 9 yr old) Then, once they are done, whatever money they've raised, a local business is going to match.
I decided my money will be better goin there than Red Cross, cause then they will match it. Anyone who lives nearby my mom (everyone in Akron/Canton) should go and sponsor my sister. Seriously. I don't care how broke you are, you like a million times better off than the people in down in New Orleans! Even if you just sponsor her for $1 a lap. What's the worst she could do in a week, really? So if you live around there, call my mom up. If you can't remember the number get it from Caleb. Seriously guys. If you aren't donating money somehow to the effort, then you get "I'm a crappy person" points. And don't ever let me find out. Cause the second you try to say "I couldn't afford to donate" is the second I'll turn around and ask you how many times you ate out that week, or how many stupid Battle Tech figures you've bought this month, or something. I'll come up with _something_. Don't stick your head in the sand. DO SOMETHING!

Some organisations like the Salvation Army are accepting other goods... like canned goods, clothing, baby supplies, etc.
